It is used as a means of soothing skin burns and irritations and as a component of face masks and scrubs. It can be used to cleanse the face of dirt, grease, cosmetics and dead skin cells. It should be avoided by people with dry and sensitive skin, because the baking soda can dry out the skin and thus cause irritation. For this reason, before applying homemade cosmetics with baking soda, try out the product on the wrist or on the skin behind the ear.

Recipes for home cosmetics with baking soda

Cleansing soda mask

Ingredients:

• 2 tablespoons of baking soda,
• 1 tablespoon of warm water.

Place the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly until a white paste is formed. Apply it to those parts of the skin that need to be cleaned, for example, the T-zone. After a few minutes, wash the mask with lukewarm water and dry the skin with a towel.

Soda mask with coconut oil

Ingredients:

• 1 tablespoon of baking soda,
• 1 tablespoon of coconut oil.

(Use the proportions of ingredients according to your skin type. For sensitive skin, use more oil, and for oily skin use more soda).

Mix baking soda with coconut oil. Apply the mask to the entire face, leave in for several minutes and wash down with lukewarm water. If you add more soda, you will get a gentle face scrub.

Hair mask with baking soda

Ingredients:

• any hair shampoo,
• 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Add soda to the shampoo and wash your hair thoroughly. Soda will dry it, so after rinsing the shampoo, apply a generous amount of conditioner. The mask is perfect for thorough hair cleansing that will get rid of the remains of dry shampoo, hairspray or other styling products.
