How do you harm your skin in summer? 5 most common skin care mistakes
Even small things may damage your skin in summer. What are the most common skin care mistakes and do they affect you too?

Skincare not matching your skin type may result in the appearance of blemishes, blackheads, or premature ageing. UV radiation has a negative effect on both skin and hair. Find out the most common summer skin care sins:

1. Not using sunscreen

In summer, when the sun is the strongest, it might be damaging to our skin. Without proper UVA/UVB protection, you risk discolouration and uneven skin tone. UV radiation also results in photoageing, which makes the skin dull and increases the number of wrinkles and creases.

When UV rays are particularly strong, always remember to use sunscreen. Apply it several times a day to the face and other exposed body parts. The wrong application of sunscreen will not provide the skin with proper protection. Apply the product at least 30 minutes before sun exposure and repeat it after 3 hours, since the sunscreen doesn’t work all day.

Also, remember to apply sunscreen under your foundation. Then you don’t need to apply it several times a day.

2. Not using scrubs

Without weekly scrubs, pores tend to clog because sweat keeps sebum, dust, dirt and toxins on the surface of the skin. Using scrubs, you will exfoliate dead skin cells, and prepare the body for further care treatments. It’s best to do the treatment in the evening, as the skin may be slightly reddened.

3. Not using moisturizing face masks

On summer days, the skin tends to dry out faster, so it is worth remembering about moisturizing and firming masks. The body needs constant moisturizing and nutrition matched to your skin type.

If you have dry skin, you should reach for moisturizing, soothing, and deeply regenerating cosmetics. Those containing hyaluronic acid will be best as it helps to maintain moisture balance.

For combination and oily skin, light face masks that don’t clog pores will work best. Use them at least 2-3 times a week before bedtime.

4. Not using a protective lip balm

The skin of the lips is extremely delicate, so you should not forget to moisturize your lips even in summer. Chapped lips are normally associated with winter, however, the thin skin on them also needs proper sun protection. Choose a lip balm with sunscreen and use it every time you go out.

5. Not taking off your makeup at night

This is the most common mistake. Do you take off your makeup quickly and sloppily? A single wipe of the skin with a cotton pad is not enough and will not wash off all the dirt. Bad makeup removal contributes to the faster appearance of wrinkles and skin imperfections.

Use eye makeup remover to clean your eyes. Wipe your lashes gently, and then clean the rest of the face with a product designed for it.

Combination, dry and seborrheic skin needs a moisturizing lotion or gel. Micellar makeup remover, on the other hand, is suitable for all skin types, because of its delicate and soothing effect. Avoid soap so as not to damage the hydrolipid skin barrier.
